1 Day Diet With Travel Tips
<< previous

This is a sample diet for a business professional that travels extensively - average weight 130-170lbs and moderately active - and wants to maintain a balanced immune system, high energy level and optimal body weight. The essential part of the healthy and balanced diet is to aim for all organic foods. Organic animal products are the most important!

Breakfast

Smoothie: Delicious, easy to make and it travels well!

1 Tbsp flax seeds
½ cup full fat yogurt
1 Tbsp pumpkin seeds (presoaked)
1 banana
½ cup frozen blueberries
4 ounces fresh carrot juice
1 ounce almonds (presoaked)
1 tsp lecithin graduals
1 tsp green magic or chlorella (green magic wonderful green food powder made by New Spirit Naturals): mix it in your juice or just in water in the morning
Herbal tea (carry your own tea bags, hot water is almost always available)

Lunch

This can be cooked ahead of time and taken to travel work
3 ounce of smoked tofu or tempeh (or if craved roast chicken)
½ cups broccoli- steamed or stir fried with other veggies
½ cups carrots
½ cups cauliflower
2 piece garlic
¼ cups onion, chopped
½ tsp extra virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp nutritional yeast (another food that I like to bring on trips to add to my vegetables)

Dinner

Consider ordering this while traveling. Most restaurants have fish and salad. Just ask for oil (EVO) and wine vinegar instead of dressing.
4 ounces broiled salmon (Pacific Wild) or sole, trout, tuna (yellowfin), halibut
1 tsp cayenne pepper
½ cups leeks
1 cups collard
½ medium sweet potatoes
Salad:
1 cup lettuce
1 tomato
¼ cups radishes (red radishes or daikon)
1/8 onion
¼ cup beets, cooked
¼ cup sunflower sprouts
¼ cup sliced carrots
½ tsp flax seeds oil
1 Tbs vinegar or lemon juice
Dulse flakes (carry these while traveling and sprinkle them on food for additional nutrient boost. They can be bought at health food stores.)
Herbal tea (Green, Chamomile, Jasmine, Dandelion, Ginger,)

Snacks

These all travel well

  • 2 ounces Shelton turkey jerky (this is a great way to bring your own organic protein when traveling)
  • Apple (It will make you smile)
  • Nuts (Almonds, Hazelnuts, Walnuts, Brazil nuts (Great snack for any occasion and great source of EFA’s, protein and potassium)
  • Water throughout day 48-64 oz. (Get a nice glass or hard plastic bottle and take it with you while traveling - especially air travel - just to remind you to drink plenty of water throughout the day.)
